Who are we?
 
Who are we? We’re glad you asked and we appreciate your interest. We are a group of Christians determined to follow the Bible to the very best of our ability. We are willing to give scriptural, New Testament authority for everything we teach and practice, or give it up.
 
We have an active teaching program for toddlers to senior citizens. The teachers who are part of this work at Warfield Blvd. spend many hours preparing lessons, classrooms, and personally advancing in their teaching skills. Our classes begin Sunday morning at 9:30. We have the same arrangement of classes on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
 
Our worship is not ornate or complicated. We meet on Sunday, the first day of the week, to “break bread” in the Lord’s supper (Acts 20:7). Since every week has a first day, we do this every Sunday. We honor God in our preaching and our praise. We sing songs unaccompanied by instruments just like Christians did in the 1st century (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). We pray together and study his sacred word. We do this because that is was done when the church first came into existence (Acts 2:42). We also take up a free-will offering among our members on Sunday (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). Our visitors are never solicited for their donations.
 
Our collective work is primarily focused on evangelism. We believe this is why the Lord established his church (1 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Philippians 2:14-15; 1 Timothy 3:16). When there is a need to provide for the physical needs of our members, and other needy saints elsewhere, we do so (Acts 2:44-46; 4:34-35; Acts 6:1-6). General benovelence to the needy who are not Christians is done by individuals, not the local church. We do the Lord’s work of evangelism, edification, and benevolence without building or supporting any human institutions through which to do our work and we do not do our work through any so-called “sponsoring church”. We do not have a “fellowship hall” in which to eat together.
